>Free Thank You Cards

>I have a confession.
I love office supplies.
I could meander the aisles of Office Depot and Staples for a hobby.
Now that that’s out there- I want to share a freebie I found at Coin Purse. Free thank you cards!

Just print them off front/back on cardstock, trim them up, and you have an unlimited supply of unique-super cute thank you cards.

I already have a stash at my desk. Love freebies!

>Do You Like Me?

>

Do you like me?
Isn’t that question behind almost everything we do? While I could dive in to a very deep, heartfelt post about the issue of people pleasing, I’m choosing to go another route.
Do you like me… on Facebook that is?!
In an effort to take small steps to promote my blog, I was advised that a Facebook Fan Page was a great place to start. But people, I need your help. Right now only two people like me. That’s me and my faithful friend, Mary. (Thanks, Mary!) Yeah, not even my own husband likes me yet. To his credit, I did just make this page late last night- but still!
I’ve made it pretty stinkin easy to like me on Facebook.
Look right below my header (top right corner).
See a new addition?
The picture below can help you out if you’re still not picking up what I’m putting down.

Just click it.
Yep.
That’s it. Easy wasn’t it?
You like me, you really do!

Thanks!

But in all seriousness, I really do appreciate any public acknowledgment of any blog stalking you do at Learn and Go. If I get enough people who will come out of the closet and admit they stalk a little, I might actually make a little money. With a baby on the way and a lack of full time employment in the future, mo money is NOT mo problems despite what Notorious BIG would say.

Thanks!

In case your curious on how to make a Facebook Fan Page for your blog (or anything your a fan of really) keep reading.

How to Make a Facebook Fan Page
I wasn’t sure how to do this so I figured other people probably weren’t either. First of all, you don’t have to create a new account.

Go to the basic sign in page and click on “Advertising” towards the bottom.
Click on “Promote Your Facebook Page”
Now click on “Create a Page”
 Choose “Brand or Product”
Lastly, under the toolbar options, select Website and then fill in your blog’s name.
 Not too hard, huh?
Enjoy making your fan pages. I had fun making mine!
I just hope my “like” number is a little higher than 2 by the end of the day. 🙂

>Protect Yourself!

>On the Today Show this morning I caught the tail end of a segment in which an innocent man got in trouble because neighbors were distributing child pornography from his unprotected wifi. Yikes. Double yikes because our wireless internet has been unprotected since we got it. I know there is a way to put a password on it but I just never got around to doing it. Until this morning that is. It really wasn’t hard at all. I simply googled it and found this link to a tutorial. I got our internet password protected (finally) in about 20 minutes. Hope you do too.

>Horizonal Menu Tab- SO EASY!

>

Here is my blog tip of the day.
You can make a horizontal menu tab VERY easily.
You know, the menu bar that hangs out right under your main header? It makes it super easy for readers to navigate your blog.

No need to go into your HTML coding. (Which I’ve done in the past). Blogger has made it pretty user friendly. Here’s how you do it:
STEP ONE:
Go to your “Design” tab and then under “Page Elements” select “Add a Gadget”
STEP TWO:
Scroll through the list of gadgets until you find one called, “Link Lists”
Click that little blue plus box to add it.
Next step is to fill in the links you want your menu tab to lead readers to.
(HERE’S A TIP)
When I post, I usually stick a label or two to categorize my posts. Here’s a pic if you don’t know what I’m referring to:
I wanted my menu tabs to take people to certain labels. For example, one of my menu tabs leads people to all of the posts that I have labeled, “Sewing”
To get the web address to all of my “Sewing” posts, I scroll to the bottom of a finished post and click on the “Sewing” label and it takes me to a web page featuring all of my posts that have been previously labeled “Sewing.” I simply copy the web address.
STEP THREE:
Copy and paste the web addresses into your Link Lists gadget
This is what it should look like once it’s filled out
Pretty self explanatory. Fill in the website that you want your menu tab to take readers to. Then give the link/tab a name. As you can see above, I have 8 links (which later turn into menu tabs). Save it when you are done.
STEP FOUR:
Blogger will automatically place your new Link List on the top right corner of all of your gadgets. Drag the gadget right under your header. (After dragging it, the gadget should appear like this, long at the top, not short like it was originally).
That’s it, folks!
Save your changes and check our your new menu tab!

I would love it if you came over and linked up! I also host a Blog Hop called Wandering Wednesday and a NEW linky party called Fun w/ Food Friday where you can link up food related posts.

I hope you will stop on by to Paisley Passions and say hi! It is always great to meet new bloggers out in blogland!

Thanks, Polly for swapping with me today!

>Date Night

>

Austin was out of town last night so I had a date… with Photoshop.
Seriously, I did. I turned down other opportunities because I had made a commitment to spend the evening getting to know the program. Kinda like you do on a date!
As I mentioned before, I have taken on some extra duties at my job. As “Communications Director” at The Crossing, I am often required to delve into Photoshop and edit graphics. Somehow I have survived up to this point without really knowing the ins and outs of the program. However, I decided I am going to take one thing at a time and build some Photoshop confidence.
So, Polly, what did you and Photoshop do on your date?
Well, friends, I decided to attempt making a silhouette of a picture. Here’s how it turned out.
BEFORE
 AFTER
Pretty nifty huh!? It only took me cough..two..cough hours. Now that I know what I’m doing though, I think I could do it a lot faster. I had to keep going back to the tutorial and troubleshoot problems I kept having.
My creative juices have started to overflow after I mastered this skill. There are so many fun things you can do with silhouettes! So many fun gifts to make! Birthday cards! Wedding gifts! So any possibilities.
Just wanted to share about my romantic Thursday evening.
