Super fun weekend!
It started with a beautiful wedding in Kansas City on Friday night. It was almost like a reunion for all of my besties- Aka: “The Council.” It’s not very often we get together since we live in four very different places in the US.

Here’s Sara in one of her finer moments of the evening.
The next day, we got to hang out and grabbed lunch at Mimi’s Cafe. Deliciousness.
After hangin with the The Council, I proceeded to the KC Rep Theater to meet up with my Crossing small group gals. We saw the play, A Christmas Carol. I’ve never seen it as a play, only on TV and in books. This is going to sound weird, but it was actually a little spooky. Not very kid friendly. I liked it but it wasn’t what I thought it would be.

After the play, we found ourselves at the Kansas City Plaza to do a little shopping. Being on the plaza around Christmas time is magical. I mean look at this:
We shopped around for a little while but were forced inside by the -10 wind chills. After splitting 5 pizzas at California Pizza Kitchen, we were on our way back to Columbia.
About this time, a winter storm was blowing in. The drive wasn’t too bad, just a lot of blowing snow.
I’m glad we left when we did though because as soon as we hit Columbia, the roads started getting nasty. We finally got our first snow of the year though!
One of the most fun parts about the snow was seeing Chauncey experience it for the first time. At first he was afraid of it (like he is most things) but after he realized it wasn’t going to swallow him up, he had a blast. Here are a few shots from playtime this afternoon.
I think that about wraps it up!
